Packing notes

What supplies do you actually need?.

Start with the belongings and the condition of the boxes you already have. The right materials depend on the job; more supplies are not automatically a better plan.

Keep a practical copy beside your packing plan.
  • Check boxes are clean, dry and suitable for their intended contents.
  • List tape, labels and clean protective paper already available.
  • Set aside damaged materials so they are not mistaken for usable stock.
  • Flag fragile pieces and unusual shapes before buying specialist materials.
  • Discuss suitable box sizes for heavy categories such as books.
  • Ask about protection for delicate surfaces and mixed kitchen items.
  • Separate labor and materials in the agreed packing plan.
  • Confirm what the team can supply and how it is priced.
  • Ask how unused supplies and additional material needs will be handled.

A useful detail

Send a short description of the rooms and the supplies you already own. The team can review the material needs alongside the scope.

Use the guide to prepare your own plan, or ask for help with the rooms and tasks you would like to hand over.
